Day in and day out, we know that our healthcare workers take care of all of us in times of sickness. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, they have worked even more gruesome hours, while putting their safety and lives at risk. Over the past weeks, we have seen so much applause for our healthcare heroes worldwide.
Talencity Salutes all Front Line Workers.
Apart from showing them our heartfelt appreciation, there is more that we can do! Please take this opportunity to give back by donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to them. The shortage is real and critical Doctors, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and other front-line workers who work with patients face-to-face everyday have been directed to severely ration their PPE due to dwindling supply.
To curb this virus, there is a lot that we can do apart from social distancing and personal hygiene. We want to show our appreciation and help by sharing with our networks some areas where we all can help.
HomeMade Masks
If you know how to sew, or know someone that does, this is a great way to band together as a community. While fabric masks do not provide the protection of surgical masks and N95 masks, they do help for a number of situations. Completed fabric masks can be donated to your local hospital, many of which are accepting them to distribute to the community, or to front-line workers directly.
Contact your local grocer or pharmacy and let’s protect the front-line worker! Check out https://stitch4corona.ca/ for more details.
Donate PPE
Do you have any PPE to donate or want to help the local fight? The PPE Drive connects you with Hospitals Urgently needing PPE To Fight COVID-19.
